VERBATIM VS. PARAPHRASE
Words, phrases, or sentences placed inside quotation marks and followed by a source citation hyperlink - that is, [1], [2], [3], etc. or [ref] - represent a direct quote. Example:
- "This is a direct quote." [1]
- "This is a direct quote." [ref]
Words, phrases, or sentences not in quotation marks and followed by a source citation hyperlink - that is, [1], [2], [3], etc. or [ref] - represent a summary or paraphrase. Example:
- This is a summary/paraphrase; it is not a direct quote. [1]
- This is a summary/paraphrase; it is not a direct quote. [ref]
Where there is no source citation hyperlink, either the idea is my own or it is a very common idea found in several sources.
BLOCK QUOTES
As for block quotes, some are paraphrases and others are verbatim quotes. I have used a couple of different methods for indicating which is which, and these should be self-explanatory.

COLLAPSIBLE PANELS
This website utilizes quite a number of "collapsible panels," which are hidden blocks of information. To open a panel and view its contents, click on the hyperlinked title (in blue). Click on the title again to close the panel. Example:
Collapsible Panel (Click anywhere along this line to open/close.)
Click on the title ("Collapsible Panel") again to close/hide this panel.
Refreshing ("F5") a window that contains one or more collapsible panels automatically resets any/all panels on that page to their original state (= closed). |

INTERNET EXPLORER
This website functions best with the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
Recommendation: If you are unable to upgrade from Windows XP and IE8 to Windows 7 and IE9, at least stop using IE8 and begin using the latest version of Google Chrome and/or Mozilla Firefox. IE8 is now woefully outdated and hence no longer standards compliant.

TOOLTIP DESCRIPTIONS
Descriptions for individual resources are now available via a small tooltip window which appears when the mouse's cursor is placed over a hyperlinked title. Example: Hover here for tooltip description.
